The property owner will apply for a SC DHEC Permit to Construct Onsite Wastewater System, aka the Septic Tank Permit. We install the septic system according to the permit. The Permit to Construct gives us the details of the system, the location, depth of the system, size of tank, drainline footage, type of drainline product approved, etc. Once we have installed the septic system a SC DHEC inspector will come inspect the system making sure all is in accordance with their rules and regulations. Upon approval, the inspector will give us the go ahead to backfill and cover the system. The inspector will go back to his office and draw up the Final Approval based on the notes he has taken on site. Within a couple of days he will release the Final Approval for the installed septic system. A copy of the Final Approval will be needed in order to have electricity turned on for the new home or business.
